Calibration of micropipettes at Metcal Technologies undergo Leakage Tests, Functional Tests and Calibration Checks. Calibration report include 30-data check for each channel, mean, standard deviation and overall Pass/Fail performance status. Adjustment is performed where readings are found out of tolerance or specifications.
Preventive Maintenance (PM) proactively checks and replace parts that fail or have worn out. Micropipettes are dissembled, cleaned inside and outside, decontaminated, pistons are polished and/or re-greased, seals and/or o-rings are replaced where needed and then reassembled.
Micropipettes are highly precise instrument. Exposure to temperature, pressure and volatile solvents can lead to inaccurate and lower dispensed volume. If you notice your micropipette dispensing out of range or not performing as usual, then it’s time to have it calibrated or serviced.
